Former prisoners of war who required medical attention were taken to Hargeisa and assisted by the ICRC. The SSC-Khatumo officials who spoke to journalists today said that they know the fate of two detainees at Hargeisa General Hospital. The detainees in Hargeisa were captured during the war and are not given any medical treatments, and they have been tortured in the jail without being attended to. Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Hundub, who is detained in Hargeisa, had his leg chopped off last year, and today there was an attempt to chop off his remaining leg. Currently, no details can be specified regarding the status of the amputation of the man’s limbs.
There are two prisoners that are currently admitted to the hospital due to torture that was inflicted on them.

Also, Abdirahman Umal Hussein, who was a local businessman and arrested simply because his clan is affiliated with the SSC administration, was forcefully transferred from Hargeisa prison last year to Gabiley prison. It is alleged that he gets tortured and is framed for a crime under torture.
